Xbox 2 may be unveiled in summer!

Today I attended Hornsea Leisure Centre once again as well as completing a visit to the nearest city, Hull in order to complete various tasks!

I was also interested to see that details of the next generation of Microsoft's Xbox games console - codenamed Xenon - will most likely be unveiled in May, according to reports. And also is it just me or does January seem to have disappeared very quickly, it only seems like five seconds since we celebrated Christmas!

Watched Time Team!

Today, I watched Time Team where they uncovered huge circular cropmarks, visible only from the air, mark the existence of some intriguing archaeological remains in a field near Peterborough, on the edge of the Fens. Archaeologists believe the two concentric circles are what they call a causewayed enclosure, dating from the Neolithic era.

I also found this interesting link on the BBC Humber website, showing us what the weather is in Hull, Massachusetts at present with heavy snow everywhere. A meteorologist recorded wind speeds of 93 mph. So we should no complain to much about the British Weather!

Watched Troy on DVD!

Today I watched Troy on DVD which was a good film, I also made it to the gym! Troy is the story of ancient Greece when men fought for glory, honour and sometimes love. Paris (played by Orlando Bloom) is Prince of Troy. He falls in love with the wife of King Menelaus, Helen, Queen Of Sparta (played by Diane Kruger). Such is his obsession with her that he abducts her. King Menelaus (played by Brendan Gleeson) is beyond reason when he discovers this crime. His brother, King of the Myceneans, Agamemnon (played by Brian Cox) is deeply insulted and family pride dictates that a war is the only way to respond.

Good news also in that both Luton and Tranmere drew in there matches today, so if Hull City A.F.C. can win away against mid table Chesterfield on Tuesday night they will top League 1, which hopefully should be good!

Gym!

Today, I made my way to the gym I have joined at Hornsea Leisure Centre in order to increase my fitness!

Scouts!

This evening I am going to help at my local Scout Group which is normally an enjoyable experience! Having helped at Scouts for seven years!

I always find it very interesting to find out what the Scouts I have worked with do in life after they have left Scouts and tonight should be good! At present I am just going to the local Gym in Hornsea!

Watched Dr Who: Lost in time DVD (Disc 1)!

Today when I eventually got in I watched a compilation of lost episodes from the television series of Doctor Who. Including the episodes: 'The Daleks', 'Master Plan', The Moonbase', 'The Underwater Menace', 'The Wheel In Space' and 'The Abominable Snowman'. All starring William Hartnell as the Doctor, unfortunately they where all in Black and White. However, they where all good, we shall just have to wait and see whether the new Dr. can be as good as the original later this year!

Updated Sidebar!

Today, I thought I would update my sidebar and have added the books I am currently reading as well as the websites I am currently working on! I also updated the links to friends blogs as I had a few links I wanted to put in that part of my blog!

Found out that Hull City had lost at the hands of there old nemesis Doncaster Rovers!

Being out of range of BBC Radio Humberside and not being able to listen to the match on the radio was a bit dissapointing, but judging by the reports Hull City did not perform well against there old nemesis Doncaster Rovers. A 59th minute goal from Doncaster's Michael McIndoe sent promotion chasing Hull sliding to their first league defeat in 10 games in a tremendous local derby. The Tigers had captain Ian Ashbee sent off to add to their troubles but the result was no more than Doncaster deserved.

City started and finished strongly, but Doncaster dominated in between and could have won by a bigger margin. Rovers soaked up the early pressure with Tim Ryan and Steve Foster resolute in defence and it was the home side that had the first attempt at goal when Dave Mulligan had a 30-yard saved in the 12th minute.

Hull battled to the end but Rovers keeper Andy Warrington came to the rescue to superbly parry a goal bound effort from Danny Allsopp and Kevin Ellison hit the rebound wide. Green volleyed wide in stoppage time as Hull's last chance came and went with Rovers good value for the win. However, you know what they say it is only one game!

I was also pleased to hear that the Tsunami Relief Concert held at the millenium stadium in Cardiff has raised £1.25 million for victims of the tsunami disaster in Asia.

Meeting In Reading!

Today, I spent the day travelling down to Reading near London, for my meeting with the other members of the Scouting 2007 team at Microsofts European HQ, which I haven't had a meeting for since the begininning of November 2004.

The drive was long and tiring however when I got there I checked into the Travelodge in Reading and saw many friends which I hadn't seen since mid-November and found out some more of what I will be doing at Eurojam & Scouting 2007. I am now working in the EurojamLIVE sub-team, which should be enjoyable, I hope!

Chelsea's Former Ken Bates takes over Leeds United!

Ken Bates completed a £10million takeover of Leeds United today to lift the threat of administration at the crisis-hit Championship club.

Bates, who will succeed Gerald Krasner as chairman, is expected to unveil his plans to take the club forward at an Elland Road press conference.

Leeds, who were £25million in debt before the takeover, were believed to be on the brink of administration and the 10-point penalty that would have gone with it would have plunged the club into the relegation zone.

The 73-year-old former Chelsea chairman is heading a £10m consortium reported to be based in Geneva.

However, I still have not made it to the Gym this week which is naughty of me, however I have had the flu, which has made me feel terrible so I have a good excuse!

Ferrari abandon F1 breakaway plan!

It came as a surprise to me this morning when I read the Daily Telegraph that Ferrari have agreed to extend Formula One's Concorde Agreement until 2012, effectively ending the threat by the sport's major manufacturers to set up a rival competition.

The announcement means that Ferrari, the richest team in F1, have broken ranks with their partners in the Grand Prix World Championship (GPWC), which they set up with Mercedes, BMW and Renault to campaign for a greater share of the sport's revenues.

I am also getting organised for my Scouting 2007 meeting which is coming up pretty soon, tomorrow I should really try to make it to the gym!

Burnley 1-0 Liverpool

Today, I have been working hard on various projects as well as trying to get all the things organised for the coming weekend. However, whilst doing this I listened to some FA cup action on radio 5 live, via the BBC's web based radio player in which a comical own goal from Djimi Traore helped Burnley stun an inexperienced Liverpool side and book an FA Cup fourth-round clash with Bournemouth, which is quite amusing seen it was a David vs. Goliath battle! I have decided that tomorrow I am definitely going to the gym. I was going to go today but I have not been too well, nasty tickly cough in case you are wondering!

UK Radio Aid!

It was good to hear Chris Evans on local radio today after his long break from the airwaves. Today has seen the most extraordinary day ever in radio. Every commercial station in the UK broadcasted UK Radio Aid - a day of very special guests, presenters and activity to raise money for the Tsunami appeal.

The total at the present time stands at £3,012,345, which is good for only a few hours of radio shows, and I think it really shows how the people of the UK want to get behind the people affected by the tsunami. And I hope that this total will continue to rise as always occurs after an event finishes!

Hull City draw with Peterborough!

Today after watching the match at the KC stadium in Hull I am dissapointed that Hull have moved back into position 2 in league 1 after only managing a draw with Peterborough! Peterborough's Calum Willock is the toast of Luton this Saturday after his last-gasp equaliser ensured that Hull were knocked off the top of League One by the Hatters. Lowly Peterborough salvaged a point at the KC Stadium as Hull's eight-match winning run in the league came to a halt.

The Tigers took the lead in the second half with goals from Nick Barmby and Stuart Green, after Steve Thomson's opener for the visitors - but Willock tapped home in added on time. Hull started slowly and it was no surprise when Willock set up Thomson to fire home the opening goal after 25 minutes.

However, Willock missed a glorious opportunity to score a second when he out-paced Damien Delaney, but was denied by goalkeeper Boaz Myhill. Less than 30 seconds into the second half Hull drew level when Mark Tyler dropped Marc Joseph's cross from the right and Barmby headed home. Fifteen minutes later Ian Ashbee released Stuart Green, who lifted a terrific finish over Tyler.

However Peterborough never stopped running and Willock was in the right place to convert Andy Clarke's cross from the left in stoppage-time. Which meant that Hull's time as leaders of League One came to an end which dissapointed me greatly, but I suppose second place still means automatic promotion, which is good! However, it should be remembered there is still half a season to go!

Tonight I went to Floral Hall, again!

Tonight I visited the local public house "The Alexandra" in Hornsea with a few of my friends before eventually moving on to the Hornsea Floral Hall the top entertainment venue in the town!

Doctor Who!

Today, having a general browse of the web I decided to look on the BBC's doctor who site and it confirms that the new series with Christopher Eccleston will air in the BBC's winter schedule this year which is good news for all us Dr Who fans after such a long interlude!

To Hull and back!

Today, I have made a journey into the city of Hull to buy some new Jeans, as I was in need of some, as over Christmas I seem to have expanded around my waist line, so now I take a larger size than before! I also went to Asda to complete the monthly shop. Whilst looking on my Kinja digest I happened to see a post my friend Simon, on how British you actually are, and I completed the afformentioned item and it seems to suggest that

Local bands join forces for Tsunami fundraiser gig!

I was pleased to see the above site linked to from the Local BBC site, as Peter Levy, talked about it on the news this evening and I thought it was quite good that local people where getting together to help tsunami victims! Many of Hull's top local bands, including major label signing The Paddingtons, are getting ready for a fundraising gig to help victims of the Asian Tsunami disaster.

This evening I will be making my way to the Gym, second day in a row something must be wrong! Today, I also attended the funeral of a local Hornsea businessman at St. Nicholas Church in Hornsea which was a pretty sad affair as I have known this man for a lot of years!

Time Team!

Tonight I have stayed in and have mostly been working on the Scouting 2007 and Eurojam websites! I also watched the new series of Time Team on Channel 4, for a link please click the above title!

For this programme, Time Team visited the village of Nether Poppleton, near York. And relatively close to my home! The local residents wanted to know more about the place where they live. Mysterious earthworks cover a field around their church and the locals have bought the land to protect it from development. But what do these earthworks represent? It turned out to be the site of a monestary!

And there did turn out to be evidence of a Saxon church or monastic settlement predating the existing Norman church.

Hull City loose to Colchester United and are out of the FA Cup!

It was a bit of a interesting weekend for me and it was also a bitterly cold, windswept and showery afternoon at the KC Stadium. Unfortunately, the Tigers failed to deliver any warmth - either by result or performance. They simply failed to compete effectively with a well-organised, well motivated and well-supported Colchester United side.

City's FA Third Round Cup exit was disappointing - even allowing for their heavily depleted line-up through injury and suspension. From what I saw I think Peter Taylor should rethink the whole of the tigers backup squad as it is clear to me that if it wasn't for the likes of Ian Ashbee, Stuart Elliot and Nick Barmby the tigers would not be in the position they are at the top of league 1.

The only player on the pitch who deserved his place in the FA Cup squad was Boaz Myhill, as he made some good saves in the game, and the scoreline could maybe have been worse, but as they say that is football! However, I must say that this is the first bad result the tigers have had for a while and on a brighter note they are still at the top of league 1, which Peter Taylor thinks is more important than the FA Cup!

On another note it has been pretty windy lately as someone in the next street lost their chimney stack last night!

Hornsea Scouts!

Today, millions of people across the UK and Europe have observed a three-minute silence to remember the 150,000 killed by the Asian tsunami. The silence started in Britain at 1200 GMT, and was respected by all including children, which I think was a fitting tribute to all those who perished!

I also found out today that one man I have known for a long time and who has done a lot for Hornsea died just after New Year which added sadness to the New Year for me!

Last Visit to Hull Universities Scarborough Campus!

Today, I made my last visit for the foreseeable future to Hull Universities Scarborough Campus in order to return my library books, I will really miss the place until I visit it again in June fingers crossed for graduation, will just have to wait for two more months to see what my results hold, hope I have passed!

Hull City A.F.C. top League 1 by beating Stockport 3-1 at the end of christmas!

I was extremely pleased to see that Hull City have reached 1st place in League One for the first time this season after winning at league one struglers Stockport. Wilbraham was rewarded for his goal on Saturday with a starting place against his former team, and after just 10 minutes he scored, nice to see the rest of the team can fill in for Stuart Elliott and Nick Barmby! However, a lack of communication allowed Danny Adams to equalise 14 minutes later for Stockport.

Half time substitute Michael Keane had the chance to put City back in front when Leon Cort won a debatable penalty, but County 'keeper Neil Cutler made a good save. It didn't take much longer for City to restore the lead though as Jason Price scored a close-range header in the 61st minute, before Danny Allsopp wrapped up the win 4 minutes later courtesy of a mix-up in Stockports defence.

The three points sees City go top after Luton could only manage a draw at Peterborough. A few months ago I thought that Luton would win the league for sure, it shows how wrong you can be. And the New Year should be extremely interesting league wise! Plus in March I have a whole new season of Formula One to watch which should prove to be good!

I was pleased to complete this months updates to the Scouting 2007 and Eurojam sites, I hope!

However, I was more concerned to read in the Sunday Telegraph this morning that areas hit by the Asian tsunami could take up to 10 years to recover, the UN secretary, Koffi Annan general has warned.

Last night I went out in Hornsea to celebrate the New Year which was good and there was no ice! Hope all my readership had a good and prosperous New Year.

Tonight there is a new series of Time Team on the television which pleases me as I enjoy the programme very much with Tony Robinson and his team! I am also pleased to say that James has resumed Blogging again, so hopefully that will mean my Kinja digest will have slightly more entries in it, once again!

Hull City beat Huddersfield Town by 2 goals to 1!

Happy New Year to my readership, just a short post to wish you all a Happy New Year and to tell you that Hull City A.F.C. have won again, however a slight worry is that League Ones leading goal scorer Stuart Elliot is injured for around six weeks with a fractured cheak bone, so all the news in the New Year is not good! Will speak more soon.
