Olympic bid team arrive in London!

I read the above article about the International Olympic Committee's evaluation commission being ready to begin its inspection of London's bid to host the Games in 2012.

The 13-strong IOC team flew into Heathrow Airport on Tuesday, their inspection tour will begin on Wednesday with a presentation by London 2012 bid chairman Lord Coe. The tour of London's plans and key sites will take place over four days. And on the news tonight they wanted everyone in the United Kingdom to be seen to be backing the bid, hopefully London will be more successful than Paris, New York, Madrid and Moscow who are also competing to host the 2012 Olympics.

I suppose only time will tell whether we are going to be succesful or not with the results being announced in July 2005. I personally think it will be good for the UK to host something of this magnitude, as we haven't hosted anything so large since the 1966 World Cup Finals, and also I think France should be discounted immediately as they seem to host something every other year!
