Today, I spent the day travelling down to Reading near London, for my meeting with the other members of the Scouting 2007 team at Microsoft, which turned out to be quite a productive day on which I made some new friends and found out what I will be doing at Eurojam & Scouting 2007. If I have planned it right this weekend will be the first without university work for a long time!

Meeting in Reading!
Friday, July 30, 2004
Went home & visited the pub!
Tonight, I went out in Hornsea to see a few of my friends at home before making the journey down to London early tommorow morning! I also remembered that the local Scout Group Hornsea Scout Group where camping at Longridge Scout Boating Centre on the Thames at Marlow, I should try and visit them whilst I am down there, however, I don't know whether I will have the time!
I think it will be a bit of a shame, however if the Scout Association closes down Longridge at Marlow as I have being camping there a few times, and I really think it is a very good Scout campsite, in a very popular location! So my message to the Scout Association is keep Longridge open!
Tomorrow I will be travelling down to London to join in a Scouting 2007 Web Team meeting, at Microsoft's European HQ!

What Fun!
Today, I have been mainly doing further revision for my forthcoming exams, updating the Hull SSAGO Website and doing some further work on my report as well as thinking about the forthcoming weekend in Reading and packing some things!
A story that caught my eye in the news today was the fact that the over 80's will double to 5 million in a generation! I wonder how society will cope having more people over retirement age, I think some adaptation will be necessary!
In America things are really hotting up for the elections as you can see on my friend Simon's Blog who is actually out there right now, working I should add! Anyway I should really get to sleep now, so good night all!

Today I have been working on Java and my IST essay!
Today I have been completing lots of hard work on Java Revision and also working for a long while on my essay, that is due in quite soon now!!
I have been completing my Java revision in the abtely named Java Lab on Hull Universities Scarborough Campus! Hence, the late post I am just making posting the last thing before going to bed!
Tomorrow, I have a meeting at 11a.m. to discuss how my Java Revision is coming along, hopefully this will chear me up in some way! As today I have been working on an essay all about the solutions used to combat the shortage of IP addresses, which is proving to be a uphill struggle!
At the same time, I am trying to also organise a trip to Reading at the weekend, which should prove to be a good laugh, as I have never been to Reading before! I will update you on Monday, on what I thought about it, apparently the roads are a nightmare in Reading!
P.S. I wish I would stop misspelling tomorrow in my blog I keep spelling it tommorow, apologies if you find a spelling error in my archives!

Interesting Day!
Have had quite an interesting day doing some more work on my IST essay, before moving onto the sports fields for the usual tradition of football on the field! Luckily I didn't injure myself before my forthcoming weekend away! Tomorrow I hope to complete some more work, and hopefully go for a short walk, weather permitting, I shall have to wait and see!

Back in Scarborough!
Returned to Scarborough today to continue with my revision and to get ready for the Scouting 2007 and Eurojam meeting I will be attending this weekend, in Reading. A place I have to say I have never visited before, but judging by the directions I have been given it is a more complex place to navigate than Leeds, and that is really saying something!
Anyway, I hope everyone who attended the SAGGA water activities weekend had a good time, will see you all soon! That is as long as I survive getting to Reading and back! All good fun anyway! Tomorrow, I will be trying to get some serious work done, however, we will have to wait and see how successful I am! Probably will post again tomorrow, so until then, goodbye!
Today, I also realised that my date counter for Eurojam was not working as it should be doing, so I have replaced it with a more reliable model!

Revision!
Haven't really got anything to say today, apart from the fact that I have been working hard on my revision! I have also being trying to sort out my visit to Reading next weekend for the Scouting 2007 and Eurojam web development team meeting! It looks like next weekend should prove to be a weekend of hard work, but hopefully some fun as well, as Scouting always turns out to be!
As I have never been to Reading before I think the weekend should be an interesting one, I shall have to wait and see! It will be interesting to see whether I can use the information I have learn't over the last year in a pressurised situation! Anyway, I will just have to wait and see. I will be returning to Scarborough tomorrow, hopefully it will not be too busy!
I unfortunately missed the
SAGGA Water Activities weekend, this weekend, which is a shame. Always next year I suppose! Anyway, I will post tomorrow, after hopefully spending the day completing more revision, all good fun!

Floral Hall!
Last Night, I attended Hornsea Floral Hall with a few friends, once again making the most of seeing them all, before I return to Scarborough to continue with my studies! It was a enjoyable night overall, just a standard disco! Anyway today, I am just doing a short post as I don't really have much to say, will post properly after the weekend!

Fine Weather!
The weather today is relatively fine, which pleased me as I had a few outdoors type things to do today, I would have thought after the vast amount of rain we had the grass would be more boggy, but it isn't! Anyway, today once again I have mostly being completing revision for my forthcoming Java Programming exam , as well as doing yet more work on my IST revision, all good fun!
What do they say, THE FUN OF BEEN A STUDENT? I'm not quite sure I know the meaning of this, but it is all worth it in the end! I know this and have also been assured this by various other people. So I will keep soldiering on at it until I am or it is finished, anyway I should get back to the work, will speak tomorrow, signing off Blogger for another day!
P.S. Sorry, for being boring and posting in normal styles & colours but I don't have time for anything else during the week!

Made it to the Gym!
Tonight, after many days of trying I made it to the Gym once again, to have my regular workout! However, the problem was after I left my flat to make my way to the Gym, I got so wet I felt like I'd had a bath, so much for a short shower! However, when I got to the Gym I soon dried out doing my various work outs on various different machines! So at present I am doing relatively well at keeping fit, I am making it to the Gym at weekly intervals and playing football, all this working out cannot be good for you I am sure! Will speak again soon.

Today, I actually made it to the cinema to watch Spiderman 2!
I have had quite a interesting day, it started off with me going to pay my papers! Which is an interesting walk as the shop that delivers my papers is located two miles away in the village of Osgodby! I also went to the doctors whilst I was on this mission before it got too hot to walk around outside!
I came back to University and decided to get on with my work for a few hours, before realising it had got too warm and I couldn't really concentrate after approximately five hours of work! I therefore decided to go and see the movie that I said I would go and see on my blog yesterday, Spiderman 2!
Overall, the movie was very good. When the movie finished I came back to my room to continue my work and revision as it was now cooler, and I was able to work! Will post some more fascinating facts tomorrow! When I intend to make my first visit of the week to the gym!

Played Football & then talked Eurojam!
Had a good game of football this evening, went back to my room to continue my work, when I received a phonecall from the person who I will be working at Eurojam & Scouting 2007 with!
His name is Michael Nolan. Who is a Scout from West Lancashire, in charge of and also involved with the Eurojam.org website! So, we had a conversation about the project and how it should be carried forward! Before saying goodbye for the evening, as we will see each other on the 1st August at a web team development meeting in Reading!
For the rest of the day I have being working on my IST coursework, as I will be doing tomorrow which is all good fun! However, sometime this week I intend to go to see Spiderman 2. To hopefully give me a small break from the revision!

New Chief Scout!
The new chief Scout is Peter Duncan! It was plain they were looking for someone different to be Chief when they advertised the post externally to the association. Peter Duncan's outdoor image certainly fits with the real image of Scouting that perhaps has not got as far as the mind of media people until now. While I and the association think he will be good for the image of the movement I wonder if he'll have as much time for members as past holders of the role, such as George Purdy CBE, who presented me with my Queen's Scout Award way back in 1996! Anyway, after my above side track, today I have being mostly doing Java revision and sorting out various small problems that have come to light over the past weeks, all good fun I suppose!
P.S I don't know why pieces of my blog text keep getting lost under the background, in Internet Explorer. Anyone who has this problem blaim Microsoft and not me? As it all looks fine under Mozilla Firefox 0.9 and Mozilla 1.7.1, must be the fun of using a Microsoft based browser, haven't tried it lately!

Hornsea Carnival 2004!
Spent the weekend in Hornsea for the Carnival weekend, it was mainly the same old affair, where I saw many people I haven't seen for a long time in the evening. I even spent two nights in a row at Hornsea Floral Hall with various people I know, all good fun! I also saw the Beautiful Southmartins http://www.southmartins.demon.co.uk/, who as always put on a good show, to round carnival weekend off quite nicely! The event is over for another year anyway now and mainly without the threatening bad weather, even though the park was quite boggy!
I also got a new Petzl Duo Lantern this weekend to replace my damaged Zoom lantern so when I go camping in September I will be prepared!

I like the new blogger post creator!
Just logged onto blogger, to see what the email I got earlier in the week was all about! The new Blogger Interface is a hugh improvement over the previous incarnation and even has a spellchecker and allows you to include bullet points! I think it offers a big improvement to blogger users even allowing you to edit the HTML of individual posts! Hence, today I have decided to post in red!

Today I have been working on Java Programming revision!
Spent the day mostly working on Java Programming Revision, where I thought I got quite a lot done! Tomorrow I intend to go home, once again for the Hornsea Carnival weekend! Where, I hope to see a few of my friends. I did not get my walk around Scarborough today, as it rained once again! I suppose I went to the Gym last night that is a start.
I find it quite amusing that less than 10 years after the Iron Lady privatised the British Rail Industry, the government is basically renationalising the whole thing, well done is what I say, but we will just have to wait and see how it all turns out, in the long run! For more details see the following link from the BBC.
Hopefully these proposals will take us back to the halcyon days of British Rail Travel, after what Margaret Thatcher and the Conservative Party did to the Railways!

Today, I have being working & also have been to the Gym!
Today, I have being doing some more Java Programming revision, and with the weather being so good, I even made time for a stroll around Scarborough! I then went for a workout at the Gym to finish the day of completely!
I was also looking at the Scarborough Evening News website today, and saw they have quite a nice picture of the Queen Mary 2 taken off Scarborough, so I will link to it, so you can see why I was so impressed on Monday. Whilst I am posting I am watching Red Dwarf, hence the above link! The Queen Mary 2 sailing past, courtesy of the Scarborough Evening News

Played Football!
I am a little bit knackered after playing football today, with my University Friends! However, have not got the cramp in my leg as I have done previously, something must be going right!
Today, was another beautiful day in Scarborough and everything is going well?
Monday, July 12, 2004
Today I got my first ever sight of the Queen Mary 2!
Today, I made my way back into Scarborough from Hornsea! However, when I arrived it was looking a wee bit busier than normal! The coastal roads where congested with people with telescopic camera's, what was going on?
When I eventually made it to the University I asked some people, and they told me the Queen Mary 2 was passing quite close into Scarborough, thanks to a request from Jimmy Saville, who lives in Scarborough!
So, I quickly picked up my camera and made my way through the crowds to see what I could see. I got quite a good viewpoint in the end, and I saw it pass quite close to Scarborough castle, well within a camera lenses width anyway!
Anyway, after that excitement I got back to work and finished off the last part of my Java Programming paper, so a good day was had!
However, tommorow I hope to go for a walk around Scarborough, as spending all this time in front of a computer can't be good for me!

Watched British Grand Prix
Last night I had a good night as I spent the night at a local public house in Hornsea, before moving on to the Hornsea Floral Hall, where I saw quite a few people I know!
Today, I have spent the day watching the British Grand Prix on television as well as doing more revising for my forthcoming Java Programming exam! Anyway, it will be good to get back to Scarborough tomorrow to see everyone and to find out what has been going on over the weekend!
That is another problem with Scarborough it gets too busy on nice weekends, thats the problem with living in Britains first resort!

Summer Fair 2004
Today, I decided to go to my local primary schools Summer Fair at Hornsea Primary School, I also watched the British Grand Prix Qualifying! It was good to see somebody else on pole other than Michael Schumacher. Hopefully, the race tommorow will be wide open, come on McClaren Mercedes and British American Racing. Anyway, tonight I will probably be making my way to the local pub to see who is about!

Tonight I have been at the Gym!
Tonight I decided to go to the Gym to try and keep up my fitness levels!

Today was an interesting day!
Today, I have spent the day reading information about Eurojam & Scouting 2007 ready for my new appointment! Have also found out I will have to fill in another Scouting CRB form for the position on the web development team, all good fun, having already filled two out for different Scouting positions! Plus the others I have had to fill out for other jobs, such as when I worked for the University!
Hope everyone I know is well!

Went to the cinema to see Shrek 2!
Today, I have been busy once again, however I found the time this afternoon, after several hours of revision for my forthcoming Java Programming exam, to make my way down to the local Plaza cinema in Scarborough! To see the sequel to a movie I saw when I was helping at Hull Universities Summer School two years ago now, doesn't time fly when you are having fun! The movie was a worthy sequel to the first movie, however it has taken a long while to produce the sequel, two years now, however, it was worth the wait, I recommend it to any other people who have some spare time on their hands!

Interesting day!
Overall, today has been a quite pleasant day, I started off by going for a walk came back to my room to continue the revision.
Then I went across to the labs and got invited to a tea party, at my friends house! After this I went back and got on with some more work. Before, taking up my usual Tuesday tradition of playing football on a very wet and muddy field!
Still, I don't mind! Have been on many SSAGO camps where the conditions have been much worse underfoot, than a little bit of mud!

Today was interesting and wet!
After returning from Hornsea this morning, I was soon down at the work, once again! However, I got side tracked again, what a suprise by having to renew my Scarborough library books and pay my papers! I read the Daily Telegraph as I feel it is a very good read and has the added advantage of being ITV's official sponsor of Formula 1.
Anyway, some person had a reserve on one of my books, however it wasn't the end of the world as I had finished with it, now I am swatting up on PHP and MySQL for my new voluntary job with the Scout Association!
I walked down to Scarborough library and got very wet, as it rained persitently from 10 minutes from my flat to the library and back again for good measure. When I got back to my flat I got straight on with the work, aren't I good! Will speak tomorrow, sorry if it seems a little bit dull at present!

French Grand Prix and Wimbledon Men's Final!
It's Sunday and I have been watching the French Grand Prix on ITV, hence the link above. Unfortunately, Michael Schumacher won the race once again, but it was close! Mclaren Mercedes did slightly better than they had been doing previously coming sixth and seventh but unfortunately Jenson Button came fifth, so we had no British people on the podium!
Tonight I intend to watch the Euro 2004 final between Greece and Portugal on the television, if I get my work finished on time, I'll just have to wait and see! Then tomorrow I intend to return to Scarborough to continue with my work! I will update my Blog tomorrow as normal!
Saturday, July 03, 2004
Today I have gone home for the weekend!
Today I went home for a short weekend, when I hope to see all my Hornsea friends, and see how far they have got on with the work on Newbegin, which to me seems to be taking a lot longer than originally stated!
On the way home I listened to the womens final of Wimbledon which turnedout to be quite a thrilling match with Maria Sharapova winning the title. I suppose it makes a change from the William sisters constantly winning!
Tonight, I intend to go out with my Hornsea friends, as I think a lot of them should
be out, I hope! In a fortnight it is Hornsea Carnival once again, which is always fun, and you tend to see people who you haven't seen in a while!
Friday, July 02, 2004
Course Night Out!
Tonight I am hopefully going for a course night out with my friends from the
Centre for Internet Computing, hence my early post I will probably not have time later on, as I doubt we will all get in before the early hours of tomorrow!
As this will probably be our last course night out before September, it will be good to see some of the people I haven't seen for a while before we all move on to pastures new in less than two months now!

Success!
Today I have been generally revising, working towards my dissertation and generally having some fun! Today, I had to renew my monthly subscription to Computer Shopper DVD Edition, which unfortunately took a little bit longer than I was expecting it to.
Anyway, apart from that tonight I went to the University Bar to watch the last European Championships semi-final, in the end the team I wanted to win it, won it but it took them a while as the Czechs looked a very strong team.
However, when Greece did score they scored a wonderful goal, so all was well in the end
